Scotch distillery Bowmore has launched its first Amazon-exclusive whisky.
Bowmore 19yo (48.9% abv) is aged in first-fill, ex-Chateau Lagrange oak barriques, and rolled into the online retailer last week.
It is the first time the Islay distillery has released whisky of this age and from these casks to the public, with only “limited” quantities available (rsp: £129/70cl).
It also marks the first exclusive release for Amazon in the whisky category.
The new dram “offers aromas of candied apple, honey and Bowmore’s signature light peat smoke, developing into rich toffee, wild honey and exotic spices on the palate”, said Bowmore, followed by “a finish of summer fruits and warm peat smoke”.
There is also an independently-bottled 19yo single malt from the distillery also available from The Boutique-y Whisky Company.
