Some iced coffee drinks provide as many calories and fat as a meal, with the worst offender containing 561 calories, a cancer charity has warned.

The drinks, sold by high street coffee shop chains, on average contain more than 200 calories each, with many offering more than 450 due to a combination of sugar, full-fat milk and cream, according to the World Cancer Research Fund.

Starbucks' summer special Dark Berry Mocha Frappuccino with whipped cream was found to be the worst offender, with 561 calories.

However, the smallest version of the Starbuck's drink with no cream contained just 228.

"If consumers are having these type of drinks regularly then they will increase the chances of becoming overweight, which in turn increases risk of developing cancer, as well as other diseases," said Dr Rachel Thompson, science programme manager at the WCRF.
