Amigos gets its dead on

Global Brands’ tequila flavoured beer Amigos has launched a brand campaign around Mexican festival Day of the Dead. The drive involves the release of a special pack and an ‘ultimate Day of the Dead party’ on Halloween in Hackney, East London.

Architectural Wren-gin-eering

Christopher Wren, a new gin produced by City of London distillery and named after the architect that designed St Paul’s Cathedral in the 17th century, launches this week in Harrods (rsp: £42).

Lancashire roots

Holland’s Pies this week launched TV ad campaign The Butcher, the Baker, the Real Pie-Maker, which aims to highlight its Lancashire roots and 164-year history. The ad is showing in the Granada, Yorkshire and Tyne Tees ITV regions.

Minky expands range

Homecare brand Minky has further expanded its range with four new products: the Aerial Plus Ironing Board, Deluxe Reflector Ironing Board Cover, Silicone Lint Roller Set and Ironing Press Cloth. They are all available now in retailers including Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.

Most Wanted gains listings

Off Piste Wines has won listings in Sainsbury’s and Tesco Wine By The Case for products from its Most Wanted range. Sainsbury’s is now stocking the Pinot Noir (rsp: £9.99), while Tesco WBTC has Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec.

No. 209 gin hits UK

Hi-Spirits is launching three gins from San Francisco distillery No. 209 that are aged in French oak wine barrels from Napa Valley. The range of 75cl bottles (rsp: £59.95) consists of cabernet sauvignon, sauvignon blanc and chardonnay.

New wines from Premium Brands Distribution

Premium Brands Distribution is launching two new wine ranges for the cash & carry and off-licence markets from November. South African brand Wild Flower (rsp: £5.79) includes shiraz, pinotage, sauvignon blanc, chenin blanc and pinotage rose; while Chilean range Castillo Valle (rsp: £5.79) consists of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and merlot rose.

Savlon adds Dual Action Gel

GSK has expanded its Savlon range with the launch of Dual Action Gel (rsp: £4.28/20g) that is both an antiseptic and anaesthetic. It is available now in retailers including Tesco.

Sibberi in Waitrose

Birch water brand Sibberi has won a listing with Waitrose from February 2016. The retailer will stock 250ml plastic bottles (£2.49) of the drink, which is produced with high-pressure processing. It has also been listed by Ocado since August.

Snaffling crackling

Pork crackling brand The Snaffling Pig Co has launched three of its 350g gifting jars (rsp: £15.99) into Ocado, which is stocking Salt & Vinegar, Habanero Chilli and Maple flavour versions of the jars of crackling.

Stoli unveils new design

Stolichnaya vodka is rolling out its first major pack redesign since the brand was created in 1938. The new bottle is taller and features redesigned labels with a different texture.

Sweetpea Pantry gains listings

Baking mix brand Sweetpea Pantry has won listings with Marks & Spencer and Booths. From this month, M&S will stock Playful Pizza Dough, Grainy Brainy Pancakes and Super Oat Flapjacks, while Booths will have Chocolate Giggles, Ginger Giggles and Super Oat Flapjacks (all rsp: £4.99/365g).

William Grant gets Russian Standard

William Grant will take over UK distribution of the UK’s third-largest vodka brand, Russian Standard, from Whyte & Mackay from 1 January 2016. Russian Standard is part of Roust International, which distributes William Grant brands in central Europe. William Grant, meanwhile, already handles Roust brands Zubrówka and Green Mark in the UK.
