An Aldi employee was stabbed to death while working in the store yesterday.

The 30-year-old was attacked in the supermarket’s Skipton outlet at around 3.30pm on Thursday.

“Brave” customers and colleagues pinned down the attacker until police arrived, said North Yorkshire Police.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.

Sky News has named the woman as mother-of-one Jodie Willsher.

An Aldi spokesman said: “We are working with the police following an incident at our Skipton store”.

North Yorkshire Police said the incident was not terror-related or believed to be a hate crime.
