Bestway is re-employing P&H van sales staff to facilitate a smooth transition for customers

Bestway Wholesale is launching a new van sales operation following the demise of P&H’s Snacksdirect and Sweetdirect businesses.

The van sales operation will service more than 20,000 retail customers with 180 vans acquired from P&H administrators, supplying them every two weeks. This is expected to be up and running from 22 January.

Noel Robinson, who previously headed up the P&H operation, will oversee the new division. He will report to Bestway Wholesale MD Martin Race.

The wholesaler will also re-employ many of the P&H van sales staff to facilitate a smooth transition for customers.

“The new Bestway van sales division is a welcome addition to the business. We feel we will be able to drive operational efficiencies by running the van sales business out of our existing network of depots,” said Race, “Moreover, as many customers look for alternative sources of supply after the collapse of P&H, this move will reinforce our ability to offer further support and supply customers, continuing to demonstrate our commitment to the wholesale channel and to independent retailers.”

“This business gives Bestway further reach in the distribution of its supplier partners’ products. Together with our depot network, telesales function, web and app channels, and sales and development teams, we have the widest and most integrated solution in the market,” added trading director Dawood Pervez.
