Cartons are a great eco-friendly choice

Sir; I agree completely with Jon Davies about the importance of communicating brand essence on cartons (Letters, The Grocer, 5 January, p24). Tetra Pak provides a varied portfolio of carton shapes and sizes. These can be branded over almost their entire surface, which Evian, Innocent, Virgin and the Brit Awards have done to great effect. With green issues topping the agenda, the environmental impact will have to rank alongside shape, size or finish when choosing the right package for a brand. Cartons have a great story to tell environmentally. They are predominantly made from a renewable material, are a low-carbon choice and can be transported efficiently and recycled
