‘Need Anything from Tesco?’ kicked off in March with an ad that saw its star driven half-mad by shopping list requests. Now a follow-up, designed to highlight its Free Fruit & Veg for Schools scheme, brings further stress.

A young lad in a Tesco store cheekily pinches and eats a grape. He thinks no one has noticed… until the entire fruit & veg section starts rumbling into life. It rears up and forms a monster, which chases our lad into the car park. Seems a bit harsh.

Fortunately, it’s friendly, stomping across the grim and grey locale and disassembling itself to feed kids playing football and going to school. It even lobs a turnip at some bullies.

The monster is beautifully designed, so it’s easy to see why the lad is disappointed when it distributes itself (almost) out of existence and turns into a tiny fruit creature. But our kid has learned a valuable lesson about nutrition, it seems: he bites its face off.
