Irn Bru manufacturer AG Barr has acquired functional water brands Vitaminsmart and Vitasmart from Chartered Brands.
Vitasmart had a retail sales value of around £1m last year and AG Barr said the acquisition would give it a headstart in the functional waters category.
“We plan to accelerate the development of our activity in this sector and believe this acquisition gives us a strong foundation,” added CEO Roger White.
