The David Sands fascia is set to disappear by the end of the year.

The Co-operative Group, which acquired the Scottish indie in January, is to spend £7m converting the remaining 22 stores to its The Co-operative fascia.

Three stores reopened under the fascia in June and a further three - in Perth, Burntisland and Crossford - will reopen next week, with the rest following over the next three months. The stores will stock increased ranges of meat and fresh produce and retain Post Office facilities, said John McNeill, regional stores director for Scotland. “These stores operate at the heart of their communities, something The Co-op has a great track record in doing,” he said.
