DBC Foodservice has won an exclusive £2.5m supply contract with Notcutts, the UK's third largest garden centre group.

The contract is DBC's first account with a garden centre and was awarded by food purchasing company Equinoxe Solutions.

DBC will deliver more than 700 lines, including café supplies and restaurant menus, to Notcutts' 18 sites, with 450 of the lines including fruit and veg. Meat will be provided by third parties into DBC's depots before daily deliveries.

"Notcutts wanted to consolidate its food offering, deal with just one trusted supplier and reduce deliveries to streamline business. This is what DBC has been able to offer," said managing director Chris Horne.

Mike Glancy, director of restaurants at Notcutts, added: "We wanted to appoint a company that could introduce new culinary initiatives to make our offering even more tempting to our customers."
