Nisa has launched a digital satellite radio station, called Nisa FM. More than 120 Nisa members supporting the Bags More Value consumer leaflet have signed up to the station, which broadcasts pop music, advertising and jingles 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Between 500 and 600 retailers are expected to sign up in the coming year. Advertising on the station supports the Bags More Value leaflets plugging in-store promotions. Nisa-Today's commercial director John Heagney said the initiative was designed to enhance instore atmosphere and offer manufacturers a chance to generate incremental sales at point of purchase. Heagney added: "Nisa's commercial radio is another way members can benefit from being part of the UK's largest buying group. "It further enhances our package, keeping us at the forefront of the independent sector." Nisa members to have signed up in the first wave include Scarborough-based Proudfoot Supermarkets, Liverpool-based Colin Sykes and Shropshire- based Harry Tuffins Supermarkets. The channel costs £125 a year and offers music that can be tailored to the time of day and a store's customer profile. {{NEWS }}
