Ocado has teamed up with celebrity chef Sophie Michell to develop a range of recipes for its followers on Twitter.

Michell prepared three meal ideas a day this week for the online retailer’s 6,700 followers on the social networking site.

The 21 recipes were condensed into 140-character tweets and posted with a link to the cooking instructions and a shopping list.

Michell, a regular guest on Channel 4’s Cook Yourself Thin and Fit Farm, developed the recipes with a specific focus on healthy eating. Examples included turkey with pecorino and pear and bircher muesli.

Ocado had worked with other TV chefs in the past, but this was the first time it had used Twitter to promote recipe ideas.

Meanwhile, Ocado has also extended its Sunday delivery times in a bid to counter increased competition from Waitrose, which started online deliveries in London in June.

Almost two years after it first began delivering on Sundays, the online grocer has widened its delivery window from 7.30am-3pm to 6am-11.30pm.

The change means the retailer is now offering the same service seven days a week.

“This is a natural reaction to growing customer demand for extended Sunday delivery times,” explained a spokesman.
