One Stop chilled range

One Stop acquired 33 stores from Alfred Jones

One Stop has completed the conversion of the 33 stores it acquired from Spar retailer Alfred Jones.

The c-store chain snapped up the stores in July and received approval from the Office of Fair Trading in September.

One Stop said the converted stores were already achieving sales targets six months ahead of schedule, with sales up 30%. They were refurbished over a 51-day period with the final four stores reopening last week.

As well as being transformed into a One Stop, the refurbs also involved introducing a new pricing structure and promotions and expanded chilled and frozen ranges.

“The integration of the Alfred Jones’ stores into our estate is a prime example of what our colleagues can achieve and the pride they take in their jobs,” said One Stop CEO Tony Reed.

“Without exception their hard work and agility have ensured we remained on track throughout.  Our new store colleagues are now part of the One Stop team and we hope they enjoy working in their newly refurbished stores, as well as benefitting from the career opportunities One Stop has to offer,” he added.
