Booker CEO Charles Wilson started a one-year term as president of Sweet Charity this week. Wilson, formerly vice-president, replaces Cadbury's sales director Dave Pogson.

Drinks giant Diageo has appointed Betsy D Holden to its board. Her responsibilities will include membership of the audit, nomination and remuneration committees. Holden is a senior adviser to McKinsey and previously held senior roles at Kraft Foods, including that of co-CEO.

Spirits group Rémy Cointreau has appointed Patrick Piana as CEO of its Rémy Martin cognac unit. Piana was most recently senior vice president of Pernod Ricard USA where he was in charge of developing the group's brands on the US market.

The Wensleydale Creamery has taken on Sarah Napier as senior NAM. She has worked for Dairy Farmers of Britain, Kraft Foods and a French division of Sara Lee International.

Northern Foods chairman Tony Hobson has started as chairman of the trustees of disfigurement charity Changing Faces. He succeeds Anthony Cann, former senior partner of City law firm Linklaters.

First Milk vice chairman Robert Shearlaw has unexpectedly quit the farmer-owned co-op. Shearlaw handed in his resignation last week following six years at the company, a spokesman confirmed.

Yazoo manufacturer Royal FrieslandCampina has appointed two members to its supervisory board. Ben van der Veer will replace Jan Hommen as external board member from the start of October, after Hommen was appointed as CEO of ING Groep NV. Erwin Wunnekink has been appointed as a member of the co-operative board, replacing Jentje de Boer.

Taylor Purkis will step down from his position as group finance director at Vimto supplier Nichols from Monday. Brendan Hynes, CEO and former group finance director, will assume his responsibilities.

Livestock auctioneers ANM Group have appointed Patrick Machray to its board. Machray is chairman of Clydesdale Bank's Thainstone Financial Solution Centre.
