Morrisons is planning to increase its store presence in London and the south of England after creating a dedicated acquisitions team for the region.

This week, the retailer appointed Helen Rainsford as head of acquisitions south to lead a team to be based at its new southern estates office in West London.

"I am looking forward to joining the team at Morrisons at such an exciting time for the company," said Rainsford, who has spent the last 10 years at Land Securities.

She will report to Morrisons group property director Terry Hartwell.
