More than 10,000 Sainsbury staff are set to share a £16m payout as part of the retailers Sharesave scheme.
The retailer said that staff who had participated in the three-year scheme would see an increase in their original savings of approximately 41%.
Meanwhile, Sainsbury has placed the UK’s largest single order for Fairtrade cotton.
The retailer is planning to produce 200,000 Faritrade cotton t-shirts from its 40-tonne order for Sport Relief later this year.
