Sainsbury brand marketing director Jeremy Schwartz is the latest senior figure to announce he is leaving the company, following five recent departures (The Grocer, September 11, p24).
His decision came after a review of Sainsbury’s senior marketing team by new marketing director Stephen Nelson, who concluded that the role of brand marketing director should be restructured.
Schwartz said he had decided to pursue career opportunities outside the company.
He has been with Sainsbury since 2002 and will stay until January 2005, continuing to lead a number of marketing projects.
Nelson said: “During his time at Sainsbury, Jeremy has brought great energy and marketing skills to many aspects of the brand. I would like to thank him for his contribution to the company and wish him every success in his future career.”
