Two more Mace retailers have defected from Somerfield to Spar in Scotland, fuelling speculation of a mass exodus.
Stores at Glencoe, near Fort William, and at Inverness will join Spar after handing in their notice to Somerfield.
And Spar said that it was confident of adding many more to the number.
The Grocer last week revealed how John Murray, who owns six Mace stores in the Scottish Highlands, decided to join Spar after becoming frustrated with his relationship with Somerfield, which bought Scottish Mace wholesaler Aberness last year.
The week before, fellow retailer Innes MacDonald said that he would be taking his two stores to Spar.
