Our mystery shoppers searched the freezers for 10 specific items this week and not one returned with a full basket.
Asda in Hyson Green did not stock Wall’s Balls breaded sausage meat but had the brand’s cheesy variant. The chain has now begun to stock Sara Lee Double Chocolate gateau in a 315g size, but not the 340g size we had on our list. Neither Asda’s Hyson Green or Pentwyn stores stocked 500ml tubs of Häagen-Dazs ice cream, while Morrisons and Tesco offered two tubs for £5. Safeway had sold out of the vanilla ice cream through a promotion at £2.49, and Wall’s Viennetta was half price. This was reduced 50p at Morrisons. The Bradford-based chain stocks Aunt Bessie’s roast potatoes only in the larger 1.81kg pack.
