Budgens’ commercial director Mike Taylor has been promoted to chief executive of the newly combined Musgrave/Budgens/ Londis business following a senior management reshuffle.
He will take up his new post on January 1, reporting to Musgrave UK executive chairman Eoin McGettigan.
Current CEO Martin Hyson will assume responsibility for
Budgens’ independent stores and for completing the sell-off of its company-owned estate to independents. He will retain his seat on the Musgrave board.
Budgens head of ambient buying Barry Williams has been appointed trading director to replace Taylor.
The reshuffle follows this week’s transfer to a new UK group HQ at Harefield. Staff from Budgens’ Ruislip HQ and the majority of the Londis team have moved to the new premises, said McGettigan.
“The new structure confirms Musgrave’s commitment to ensuring independents get the support they need to compete with the major multiples.”
The new combined operation will now be known as Musgrave Budgens-Londis (MBL).
