>>ROXANNE BENNETT, SENIOR MARKETING CONTROLLER, INSTORE SEASONAL merchandising TEAM

Budgens is going for a traditional Christmas feel instore this year with the added bonus for customers of PoS memory joggers that link products from different areas of the shop.

“For example, we’ll remind shoppers buying drinks not to forget the ice, lemon and limes,” says senior marketing controller Roxanne Bennett who leads the instore seasonal merchandising team - the people responsible for Budgens Christmas look instore. Her group includes creative production manager Richard Smallbone, marketing manager Joanne Mills and promotions and advertising manager Jackie Davis. Other members are new stores refits manager Dawn Lees and marketing assistant Adam Simmen.

Bennett adds: “We’ve gone for a traditional Father Christmas image with an old Christmas card look.

“Leaflets, PoS and carrier bags will all bear the same theme, alongside the Budgens strapline ‘Bags of Christmas cheer’.” And there’s no let up when the Christmas festive season is over.

“We’re already working on our first New Year promotion on healthy eating. Then we’ll be looking at Easter,” says Bennett.

Other seasonal activities include Hallowe’en, Bonfire Night and Mother’s Day.
