Tesco is to launch a £70m price-cutting campaign to focus mainly on its health and beauty range.

The UK’s leading grocer said it would lower the price of more than 600 health, beauty and baby products, such as toothpaste, medicines and baby wipes by 8%.

Tesco claims that a typical basket of 12 baby products at its stores would be 11% cheaper that high street chain Boots.
