Food from local suppliers is at the heart of the offer in Tesco's largest store in Scotland, which opened its doors this week.

The 103,000 sq ft Extra, situated at Silverburn Retail Park in Pollok, Glasgow, officially opened on Monday (10 July) replacing a former Tesco superstore.

The 24-hour store has an extended home and leisure department and also boasts the largest range of clothing in any Tesco in Scotland. Other departments include health and beauty, home entertainment, sports and leisure, and toys. There's also an optician, photo centre and café.

Store manager Paul Nally said that the store would stock more than 1,000 Scottish lines from more than 100 Scots suppliers.

He said: "The arrival of Tesco has come at a great time for Pollok with the town undergoing regeneration and investment. Many of our staff are transferring over from the old Tesco store but new positions created will be providing a massive jobs boost."
