The Co-operative group has sold 75 Alldays stores to other retail co-ops as it looks to refit and rebrand the Alldays chain.

Midlands Co-op and Oxford, Swindon & Gloucester have acquired 30 stores each, Colchester and Ipswich Co-ops seven stores each and Lincoln Co-op one store.

Chief executive of Midlands Co-op, Willie Tucker, said that the Alldays stores would see annual turnover climb by around £40m. Tucker added that the group was also constructing three new stores in Derbyshire, Birmingham and Stafford.
