United Co-op's Food Group has announced changes to its management team following the retirement of Martin Flaherty as general manager ­ retail operations. Sean Toal, general manager ­ marketing and trading, will succeed Flaherty. Toal has been involved in managing space planning and general merchandising projects for the 344 Food Group stores. He will now be in overall charge of these stores. He will remain a member of the food executive team. Toal said: "This is a fantastic opportunity and I am keen to continue our success and strong growth as the leading convenience retailer in our trading area." Jane Parsons will take over Toal's position and becomes a member of the food executive team. Parsons, who has extensive experience with the former CRS buying, marketing and supply chain, is currently overseeing the integration of food-buying IT systems into CRTG. Parsons said: "I am looking forward to working with the team in this exciting, challenging role and building on the success of the work undertaken by Sean and his team over the past year." {{PEOPLE MOVES }}
