Mondelez International - the snack business spun off from Kraft Foods this week - has brought together a US and a British icon to create a new chocolate bar.

Cadbury Dairy Milk with Oreo, available from this week, is a Cadbury milk chocolate bar containing a creamy filling with Oreo cookie pieces (rsp: £1.42/120g).

Combining the brands was a natural fit that would help retailers capitalise on the “phenomenal reputation of each brand individually”, said the company.

With Cadbury Dairy Milk and Oreo both in growth, of 1.6% and 12% respectively [Nielsen 52 w/e 8 September 2012], the aim of the bar was to “boost special treat occasions”, said Mondelez.
