The new app is currently being trialled before a full rollout in the new year

Bestway has launched Home Shop, a new app to enable its franchise and symbol partners to offer home delivery and click & collect services.

The wholesaler has partnered with shopping and payment app company Jisp to create the mobile platform.

Trails of the new technology are currently underway across the Bestway estate with a full rollout to its 50,000 retailers expected in the new year.

Home Shop will also give retailers new shopper insights, according to Bestway. Bestway’s customers can make use of the app free of charge, but the retailers must take care of physical delivery to shoppers’ homes themselves.

Bestway said the move followed a surge in demand for home delivery and click & collect throughout the pandemic.

”There is a real need to support our customers with ‘best-in-class’ technology that is easy to use for both the retailer and the consumer, technology that each retailer may not be able to afford individually,” said Bestway MD Dawood Pervez.

“Our partnership with Jisp is designed to empower our partners by giving them functionality that goes beyond the very basic order capture system and enables them to compete with the best in the business. It can be accessed through smart mobile technology, making it very easy for consumers to use the app.

“Retailers will be able to understand their customers better in terms of products and range and individual preferences, helping them to upsell and grow sales.”

Jisp CEO and founder Julian Fisher said: “We are cementing our position as the definitive convenience store service with best-in-class shopping solutions for independent retail. Partnering with Bestway is a testament to our app and team.”
