Some franchisees and their staff received the masks yesterday

One Stop has rolled out its own branded face masks to staff across its store estate as safety continues to be its “number one priority”.

The Tesco-owned retail chain has distributed more than 5,000 across the country this week for staff in both its company-owned and franchise stores.

“The safety of our customers, colleagues and franchisees has always been and continues to be, our number one priority,” said a One Stop spokeswoman.

“With this, we have provided each franchisee and their store teams with washable, branded One Stop face masks, free of charge.”

A number of franchisees took to social media to praise the retail chain for its support.

Sunder Sandher, director of S&S One Stop, Leamington Spa, told The Grocer: “My staff were wearing the disposable ones, but these are far better. They’re washable, breathable, and have a clear One Stop logo.”

He also said they matched well with the One Stop jackets, which made staff look “very professional”.

One Stop added: “In addition to the branded face masks, throughout the pandemic, we also supported our franchise stores with Perspex protective screens, social distancing point of sale, hand sanitiser, anti-bacterial cleaning products and disposable face masks.”
