The Wensleydale Creamery is launching its first ever television advert to reinforce its authentic credentials in consumers' minds.

The new ad, which runs for a week in the south of the ITV Tyne Tees region from October 26, shows where the cheese is made and points out that the creamy milk comes from cows grazing in the Dales’ limestone meadows.

It also states: "Maybe it's just us, but if a cheese calls itself Wensleydale, shouldn't it come from Wensleydale?"

Wensleydale has accelerated its public relations in recent weeks ahead of an expected PDO designation next year, and has also begun putting a Stamp of Authenticity on packs. The ad follows the recruitment of ex-cricketer Darren Gough earlier this month to help build brand awareness.
