Five meat industry executives were jailed for conspiring to put more than a thousand tons of condemned poultry on Britain's dinner tables. Chicken and turkey destined for Spillers and Pedigree pet food tins found its way to butchers, market traders, takeaways and supermarkets, including Kwik Save. At Hull Crown Court Andrew Boid, of The Green, Carlton-in-Lindrick, Worksop was jailed for seven years and 12 months for fraud. Darren Bibby, 29, of Blyth Road, Oldcotes Worksop was jailed for three years, while Peter Tantram, of The Cliff, Ingham, Lincoln received six years plus 12 months for fraud. John McGinty, of Taylor Crescent, Woodsetts, Rotheram was jailed for five years, and Arnold Smith, of Whitely Road, Sheffield was given three years. Clive Boid, 55, of Oldcotes, Nottingham was cleared of conspiracy but will be sentenced for fraud later. Kevin Wilson, 39 of Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire and Louise Tantram, 45, of Cliff, Ingham, Lincoln, were found not guilty. {{NEWS }}
