
Champion: Fearne & Rosie Mango Preserve
As a brand that overtrades in younger shoppers, Fearne & Rosie is well positioned to get more experimental in a category that otherwise tends to stick to tried-and-tested formulas and flavours. The latest to join their portfolio is the Alphonso Mango Preserve, made with 70% fruit and 40% less sugar than standard jams.
“One word to describe the taste: yummy,” said one judge. “A really lovely product using high quality ingredients, spot on with flavour trends and bringing newness into a very traditional category.” The jam could be used in numerous ways other than simply being spread on toast, pointed out several judges, marking it out as both “versatile in its usage and unique in its proposition”.
