Champion: Emilia’s Crafted Pasta – Rigatoni
Balancing premium aesthetics with sustainability proved a challenge for high-end pasta brand Emilia’s, with the solution taking months to refine. In the end, Emilia’s decided to source FSC-certified paper with a minimal coating to allow for vibrant design while remaining eco-friendly. The brand also worked closely with suppliers to engineer a strong, resealable pack structure to protect freshness without the need for plastic.
The end result looks like something you’d find in a deli, said our judges, with its “muted tones and typography synonymous with classic Italian style”. This is “a great design that gives a strong quality aesthetic on a sustainable substrate”, they added.
