Plantain crisp supplier Bmac Foods is up for sale after falling into administration.
The Afro-Caribbean food producer hired administrators Greenfield Recovery this month, who are hoping to complete a sale “within weeks”.
The brand specialises in plantain crisps and was listed in supermarkets and convenience stores, offering three main SKUs: sweet plantain crisps; chilli plantain crisps; and green plantain crisps.
Bmac was founded in 1992 by Michael Omodara, driven by consumer interest in African and Caribbean products in supermarkets.

Its sweet plantain crisp product was listed in Tesco stores until June 2016, according to Brand View data.
Sajid Sattar and Margaret Carter, partners at Birmingham-based Greenfield Recovery, were appointed as joint administrators on 10 September.
“We are currently marketing the business for sale and we hope to complete a sale within a few weeks,” said Sattar.
