Brand marketing and distribution specialist Food Brokers has launched a specialist healthcare division to complement its existing Chemist Brokers operation.
The new arm, titled Chemist Brokers Healthcare, will deal mainly with brands benefiting from the deregulation of over the counter (OTC) medicines.
Working initially with Aventis and Ransom, the company hopes to extend its number of trade partners to include at least two more brand owners, possibly from the US.
Steve Wilkinson, sales director of the new division, said a dedicated new sales team of 12 would target independent pharmacists while grocers would be kept up to speed on what the new division had to offer by the main Food Brokers sales force. "The division's role is to provide a ready-made sales, marketing, admin and distribution infrastructure for healthcare brand owners."
