AB InBev has mounted a push for sustainability across its business, with a new set of 2025 commitments.

The Budweiser and Stella owner has vowed to make 100% of its packaging returnable or made of majority recyclable materials, and to reduce its carbon emissions by 25% across its supply chains

It has also launched a “100+ Sustainability Accelerator” scheme, which will see the brewer “work with scientists, technologists and entrepreneurs around the world to build and develop solutions for sustainability challenges across the globe”.

Ramping up sustainability was “a necessity for our business” said AB InBev’s president for northern Europe Jason Warner. “We recognise that climate change is the most pressing issue confronting our planet and could impact the natural resources we rely on to brew our beers to the highest quality.”

The move follows similar announcements from Carlsberg and Molson Coors, both of which kicked off their own sustainability drives last year.
