Londoners have been named the UK’s healthiest eaters in a new poll.

Residents of the capital were found to eat more fruit and vegetables than consumers in any other region of the UK.

They were found to eat 26% more fruit and veg than shoppers in the northeast, which was singled out as the least healthy region.

It is the second consecutive year Londoners have topped the poll, which was carried out on behalf of price comparison website mysupermarket.com.
