Inter Link Foods is carrying out a strategic review to return the cake manufacturer to profitability.

In a trading update released this morning, Inter Link said its new CEO Ian Croxford had started a review and had already found 'opportunities' to improve efficiency and lower costs. The opportunities were already being implemented and should deliver annualised cost savings in excess of £2m, it added.

The group is also planning to establish a standard bakery model to ensure best practice across its 11 bakeries.
