Typhoo tea will come with collectible football cards for the first time since the 1970s.

The brand will be giving away packs of Match Attax cards showing players from the sides fighting it out for the Euro 2012 tournament in Poland and the Ukraine.

They are included in limited-edition boxes of 160 tea bags, which went on sale this week and will be on shelves until the end of July.

Typhoo is hoping the cards will prove a hit with kids and their tea-buying parents.

“The idea came about by looking into the brand history. Football cards were available in Typhoo packs to collect through the 60s and 70s,” said Typhoo marketing manager Kate Willoughby.
