Irish food supplier Kelkin is launching its 46-strong range of gluten-free and better-for-you products in the UK next month as it tries to double sales to more than £30m.

The company is focusing particularly on its 18-strong Gluten Free brand, which includes muesli, chocolate cake, bread mix and stuffing, claiming it offers greater depth and superior taste to other non-gluten products.

The Kelkin brand is well established in Ireland where it has annual sales of about £15.8m (€20m).

"The launch into the UK addresses key consumer needs and we are confident we can replicate the success from Ireland there," said business development manager Maria Kerry. "Our research indicated there is demand for healthy products that meet dietary needs but do not compromise on taste."
