Halewood International is cashing in on the growing popularity of rosé wine, with the launch of a new Lambrini variant.

Lambrini Rosé, a semi-sparkling wine and the brand's first venture into rosé, would appeal to Lambrini's core consumer group of 18 to 30-year-old women, the company said.

The current heavy supermarket promotions on wines was not a cause of concern for Lambrini or the new variant, said Richard Clarke, Halewood International's head of innovation. "We see some consumers trade up from Lambrini when huge promotional tactics come into play at Christmas and Easter, but this has minimal impact the rest of the year. During this time of economic uncertainty, continuing to innovate with variants of our core products is imperative. "

Lambrini Rosé will be rolled out to multiples from the end of this month (rsp: £2.49-£2.99).
