Poultry king Ranjit Boparan has appointed Müller commercial director Colin Smith as the new managing director of Fox’s Biscuits.
Smith will leave Müller UK & Ireland Group at the end of April next year before joining Fox’s, which is part of Boparan’s 2 Sisters Food Group.
In a statement, Boparan said he was “delighted” to welcome Smith on board, adding the Müller exec had “a strong track record of helping to grow companies in the food and consumer sector”.
Smith said Fox’s was a business with a strong growth agenda, a great brand, passionate people and fantastic products. “I can’t wait to get started next year,” he added.
Müller has yet to announce a replacement for Smith but said it had started the recruitment process. “I would like to thanks Colin for his contribution and professionalism over the six years that he has been with Müller. We wish him every success in his new role,” said CEO of Müller UK & Ireland Group, Ronald Kers.
Smith was appointed commercial director at Müller at the beginning of this year. He has a long history in fmcg, having previously worked at Mars, RHM, Bulmers and AB InBev. He spent three years as sales director for Müller in the UK, and two years as Müller general manager in Italy.
