Nescafé Green Blend, a new coffee that Nestlé claims is healthier than standard coffee, hits shelves this week.

The new variant (rsp: £2.98 for a 100g jar) contains regular roasted coffee beans and unroasted green coffee beans, which Nestlé claims contain polyphenol antioxidants that can help protect the body's cells from day-to-day damage.

The coffee offered a "significant opportunity to attract health-conscious consumers who have switched from coffee to green tea", said a spokesman.

It will feature in Nescafé's current Coffee at its Brightest campaign.
