Jack Link’s is promising kids a “protein kick” from its latest on-the-go option, Peperami & Cheese Snack Box.
The chilled NPD (rsp: £1.50/50g) comes in a split pack, with one side containing mini pork salami sausages and the other filled with cubes of mild cheddar cheese.
Peperami said its new product came in response to “demands from parents, delivering a snack box which is a great source of calcium as well as a protein kick, providing a great alternative to sugar-laden snacks”.
With 25.4g of protein per 100g, it would “meet demand for innovative and convenient food formats to help keep families fuller for longer while on the go”. Almost half of parents believed their children needed more protein, the brand added.
Peperami & Cheese Snack Box comes after an unremarkable year for Peperami sales in grocery. The brand added just 0.5% to its value, becoming worth £63.1m as volumes fell by 3.2% [Nielsen 52 w/e 29 December 2018].
