Nestlé’s quark brand Lindahls has extended its Kvarg range with the launch of new 500g big pots.

The pots (rsp: £2.50) are available in Natural, Raspberry and White Chocolate flavours with between 50g and 53g of protein in each pot.

The high-protein dairy product has already had success in its 150g format, with the brand citing IRI data which states it brought 389,000 new shoppers into the yoghurts and chilled desserts category [52 w/e 23 April] due to a rise in interest in high-protein yoghurt products.

The Natural offering is a new flavour for the brand and is being positioned as an ingredient for “pasta, curries and sweet treats”.

The new pots have only three ingredients and are low in sugar and fat.

“We are always looking to provide great tasting, high-protein products, in a variety of versatile formats that are perfect for every household,” said Paul Wiseman, marketing manager at Lactalis Nestlé Chilled Dairy.

“We look forward to seeing how our loyal and new customers enjoy their Nestlé Lindahls Kvarg at home, whether that’s exploring the versatility of Natural Kvarg in delicious dinners, adding tasty protein-filled flavour to breakfasts and everything in between.”

This launch follows a 61% year-on-year value growth increase over the past year for the brand, which added £9.2m to the category, according to IRI.

The White Chocolate and Natural Kvarg pots are available in Asda, while Raspberry and Natural are available in Ocado and Sainsbury’s.
