The bars each contain 10g to 11g of protein

Sports nutrition brand ProYouth Nutrition has debuted with a range of protein bars for children.

It has launched three 60g bars – Choco Brownie, Vanilla Delight and Banana Split – each containing 10g to 11g of whey protein (rsp: £23.95/12x60g).

Founder Marina Wegorek said she launched the brand because she couldn’t find a “handy and healthy snack” to give to her children before and after training.

Many of the products on the market were “filled with palm oil and artificial sweeteners”, she said.

She said there was “a real need for alternative options for active children” and the brand worked with nutritional experts, applied sports and exercise scientists and life science practitioners to create what she claims is “the world’s first protein bar for children”.

She added she hoped the brand could encourage a “more positive attitude” towards health, fitness and nutrition.
