It’s been a big year for The Grocer’s NPD Instagram account. The feed smashed 10k followers in April, reached the 15k milestone in October and shows no sign of slowing, as more and more fans tune in to see what exciting food and drink launches are coming to UK supermarkets.

10. Kellogg’s Granola Fusion smoothie bowls

These on-the-go breakfast pots from Kellogg’s made a real splash when they landed on the feed at the start of the month. The Granola Fusion bowls saw two popular cereals in an exciting, on-trend format, and had upwards of 850 followers hitting the heart button.

9. New York Bakery Co Pumpkin Spice Bagels 

There was no escaping the influx of pumpkin spice products in food and drink this autumn. The seasonal trend hit coffee, spreads, alcohol and finally baked goods, when The New York Bakery Co jumped on the bandwagon. Liked by 890 fans, the bagels launched in October but were on sale for just three weeks. “I am going to fill the freezer with these when they come out”, said one keen commenter.

8. Lotus Biscoff & Go 

Lotus products have always been a hit with fans of @thegrocerofficial. In fact, our post for its ice cream sticks just missed out on a place in this top 10. So it’s no surprise this vegan-friendly on-the-go snack was a hit, bringing in 1,061 likes and 160 comments.

7. Fanta Dark Orange

Fanta capitalised on spooky season this year with the launch of its Dark Orange variant, which recieved 1,079 likes when it was posted in September. The Halloween drink – which was blood orange flavoured and black in colour – was dubbed “goth Fanta” in the comments.

6. Hellmann’s Big Night In sauces

Hellmann’s targeted the ‘big night in’ occasion back in April with this range of sauces, designed to pep up takeaways and homemade ‘fakeaways’. Some 1,080 users double-tapped the lineup, which included a Tzatziki for kebabs and Chilli & Garlic Sauce for pizza.

5. Ben & Jerry’s Baked Alaska 

The ice cream world saw the return of a classic this year. In May, Ben & Jerry’s announced it would be bringing back its discontinued Baked Alaska flavour, and the news earned 1,146 likes from ice cream lovers on the feed.

4. Hotel Chocolat Ice Lollies 

Hotel Chocolat branched out into ice lollies in the summer with this four-strong range, which included one vegan variant. Some 1,161 likes rolled in and though some commenters baulked at the £3.25 price point, plenty of others were excited to try them. “This is the best news ever!”, said one.

3. White Choc Coco Pops

After years of consumer demand, Kellogg’s finally announced the launch of White Choc Coco Pops in June this year. The long-awaited cereal brought in 1,196 likes and 172 excited comments.

2. Solero wrapperless lollies 

Back in June, Solero claimed a world first with the launch of its wrapperless ice lollies. The brand trialled the plastic-free packaging with its recently launched, vegan Organic Peach lollies, ticking lots of sustainability boxes. 1. Fibre One Red Velvet Cake Bars 

Taking the top spot as our most-liked post this year – and to date – are these Red Velvet Cake Bars from Fibre One. The new flavour of the low-calorie snack struck a chord with slimming communities on the platform, and their excitable tags and comments helped the post reach a record 1,932 likes. “Who said dieting was boring?”, commented one fan.
