The crisps will hit Waitrose from 6 February in 150g sharing bags

Tyrells has boosted its range of non-HFSS crisps with a new Mediterranean Herb flavour.

The NPD is billed as offering a “bold and tasty flavour” while meeting the incoming regulations on HFSS food and drink. It’s the second crisp flavour from the brand to do so, joining its Naked No-Salt crisps, which are also compliant.

The crisps themselves were lightly salted with “a classic mix of the most fragrant of herbs, combining to deliver a sun-drenched flavour of the Mediterranean”, said the brand.

Flavour was “the number one purchase driver in crisps, snacks and nuts and Mediterranean Herb is a standout for its delicious, bold taste”, said Tyrells UK marketing manager Beth Minch, adding it celebrated “quality and premium credentials while offering retailers a product that complies with HFSS legislation”.

The crisps will hit Waitrose from 6 February in 150g sharing bags (rsp: £2.29).

It comes as the KP-owned brand has been steadily launching healthier NPD over the past year: 2021 saw it mount a challenge to Eat Real with its own range of low-fat lentil crisps, in Sweet Chilli & Red Pepper and Sour Cream & Onion flavours.
