The NPD has rolled into Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and The Co-op

Vita Coco has launched two new sparkling coconut waters in the UK as it seeks to provide a “healthy alternative” to sugary drinks.

Vita Coco Sparkling comes in two flavours - Lemon & Lime and Pineapple & Passionfruit - which contain 20 calories and 3.7g of natural sugar per 330ml can.

The UK launch followed a successful rollout in the US and represented a “huge milestone” for the company, said managing director Tim Rees.

“Vita Coco Sparkling is a completely new innovation in the coconut water market and looks to satisfy the demand for a healthy and hydrating sparkling drink, with all the benefits of coconut water,” he added.

The new SKUs have rolled into Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Co-op, Whole Foods Market and Bestway, with “further national listings” in the pipeline, said the brand (£1.69/330ml).

The launch will be supported by a “huge multi-channel campaign” over the coming months, centered around the concept of “bubbles with benefits”, spanning nationwide out of home advertising and paid social media, influencer marketing activity, product sampling, an experiential event and a window display at Whole Foods in the upmarket health chain’s High Street Kensington store.
