They are aimed at BBQs and ‘social occasions’ throughout the summer

Whitley Neill is pouring four of its gins into giant 1.75-litre bottles.

The Halewood Wines & Spirits brand said its new format was “the ideal size for social occasions like summer barbecues, picnics and parties” (rsp: £59.99).

It has launched across Whitley Neill Original, Rhubarb & Ginger, Raspberry and Blood Orange gins.

“The summer trading period is an important time for many alcohol brands, with lots of noise to cut through in the retail environment,” said Halewood white spirits director Leanne Ware. “By creating an increased bottle size, Whitley Neill has once more differentiated itself and enhanced shelf standout, just in time for every summer occasion.”

The new bottles have rolled into online retailer The Drop Store, with “more off-trade listings to follow”.

The brand’s sales have soared this year. It added a whopping £53.9m to its value, which hit £71.3m – making it the UK’s 43rd biggest booze brand, and its 13th biggest spirit [Nielsen 52 w/e 20 April 2019].
