Aldi has more than 350 apprentice roles available

Aldi is calling on A-level students on exam results day to consider a career in retail, and one of its hundreds of apprenticeship roles.

The discounter is looking to recruit more than 350 apprentices, with opportunities in stores across the country.

Aldi store apprentices get the chance to gain industry-recognised qualifications while being paid £8.64 per hour in year one, rising to £12.11 per hour in year three. Inside the M25, they earn £8.87 per hour, rising to £12.76.

Students applying now will benefit from higher pay rates from September if successful, starting at £8.81 in their first year or £9.05 within the M25.

“Not every young person will want to follow the same path after school and there are plenty of ways to build a successful career,” said Aldi UK recruitment director Kelly Stokes.

“Our apprentices get real experience, real pay, and the chance to build a real future from day one, and we’ve got a whole host of opportunities available for those who are ambitious, driven and ready to learn.

“We’d encourage anyone deciding on their next step this week to consider a career with us and get in touch if you’re ready for the challenge.”

Aldi, which was named Employer of the Year at The Grocer Gold Awards in July, plans to create 1,600 new store jobs throughout 2025, and open a store a week on average between now and the end of the year. It currently has more than 1,050 UK stores, where shopworkers are paid sector-leading hourly rates.
